Steven was born in Chicago in 1952. His degree in painting was given by the Maryland Institute, College of Art in 1976. He has owned galleries in Santa Fe, New Mexico and is in collections across the globe. He has been a full time artist since 1986 and currently shows at Adieb Khadoure Gallery in Santa Fe, Adagio Gallery in Palm Springs, CA. And Bill Hester Fine Art, in Chapel Hill, NC.

I am an artist, working in multi disciplines. I have a B.F.A. from The Maryland Institute, College of Art, Baltimore, with a degree in painting. Through the years, I have added poetry, writing, graphic art, publishing and photography. Total immersion in art has helped form my creative sensibilities and personal vision. I thrive on experimentation and surprise.
Since 1986 I have worked full time as an artist in one of the biggest art centers in America; Santa Fe, New Mexico. I owned my own gallery for many years, and my art is in collections across the country and beyond, including the permanent collection of the United States Department of Interior. Currently, I am represented by: Adieb Khadoure Fine Art, Santa Fe, NM, Bill Hester Fine Art, Chapel Hill, NC., and Adagio Gallery, Palm Springs, CA.
The main thing for me is to keep my vision fresh with open eyes and a sense of wonder. The immediate, visceral, impact of the subject is of first importance, made even bigger with finesse of technique.
