Bernard Marks
Bernard Marks was a finalist in International Artist Magazine’s Seascapes, Rivers and Lakes art competition. Marks’ watercolor “The Colorado in the Canyon” appeared in the magazine’s June/July 2005 issue. The competition was open to painters worldwide and accepted works in all media. Last year, Bernard’s “Late Afternoon, Grand Canyon” was selected for the Top 200 in the prestigious Arts for the Parks competition.
Bernard has won Sponsor’s Awards in four consecutive New Mexico Watercolor Society Shows.
His work is exhibited at Somé Gallery in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Mariposa Gallery in St. George, Utah and Joyous Lake Gallery in Pinetop, Arizona and appears in the private collections of individuals around the country. Bernard is currently a member of:
- American Watercolor Society
- National Watercolor Society
- New Mexico Watercolor Society
- Plein Air New Mexico
Bernard retired in 2004 from the Chicago-area advertising agency he founded in order to devote full time to painting. Now a resident of Santa Fe, Bernard divides his time between plein air painting and studio painting.
