After a 30-year publishing career in New York, Boston, and Los Angeles, I rediscovered painting. Not coincidentally, I returned to painting after moving to Santa Fe, New Mexico, a setting that has inspired many of my favorite artists -- artists like John Marin, Richard Diebenkorn, Raymond Jonson, William Lumpkins, all of whom worked in New Mexico at one time. Their work has inspired me as have the light and landscape of New Mexico. Following a Modernist tradition, I work primarily in watercolor and pastel for I love the transparency of watercolors and the velvety texture of pastels.
